A Walk Down Memory Lane

Have you ever had one of those days that you just didn't want to do anything, and even the thought of thinking hurt? Well, that was me today. So, I played a mindless computer game for most of the day. Played and cuddled with Peanut, my loving little companion and took a 67 year walk down memory lane, concentrating mostly on the first 20 years. Not because they were fun and carefree (as they weren't), but because those years made me the person I am today.

Looking back, my easiest years were 22 through 50. One would think raising kids and juggling work, marriage and hobbies would have been the most challenging. They weren't for me. My then spouse and I shared everything 50/50 and time seemed to move smoothly. Fifty through now are more challenging, and sometimes seem less rewarding. Well, at least for me, at this point in time...until I sit back as I did today and make a mental list of accomplishments and tasks completed. My current hubby and I work together well, and share the burden. You have to remember to factor in the age difference though. Hauling a load of firewood today doesn't go as easily as it did 30 years ago.

I ended my day of walking down memory lane when I received a phone call from a classmate and one of my recently reunited lifelong friends that I have been blessed with. We talked of today and yesterdays of long ago. We updated each other on prayer lists, and gave silent thanks for our blessings. We shared a few laughs and promised to contact each other next week. Now I have to remind myself to call all of the others over the next several days so they will know I'm thinking of them.

The moral of this post....Taking a walk down memory lane has a healing affect, and gives pause to count one's blessings. With all of that said, thank you family and friends for being a part of my life. You are at the top of my blessings list, and I give thanks for your friendship and love every day.

A New Addition

It's been a while since I've posted here. Much has been going on. Hubby and I have a minimum of 4 major projects going on at the moment... and quite a few that need finishing touches. Life is busy.

We added a 7th critter to our Colebrook Critter Pack. It took us a few days, but we finally settled on Peanut for her name.

Peanut and Little Bear sharing the command seat during yesterday's outing.

Peanut is a Long Haired Russian Toy Terrier. Her parents came to the USA from Russia two years ago. She is the second litter born here. She has a brother who is as adorable as she is. There are very few registered breeders in the USA. There is one in CT. We adopted Peanut from a private home in Westfield, MA.

At first sight people think she is a Papillon because of her ears, or a Chihuahua because of her size and head shape. Her body build is definitely not either. When standing on all fours she resembles a deer, with her long neck and legs. She's a stunning little dog with a wonderful personality. She runs with the pack here with no problem, and is friendly with the feline side of the family.

She weighs a little over 2 pounds and stands 6" tall. She has the speed of a bullet and can be out of sight in a split second which is not good as owls and hawks abound here and she is dessert to them. She can stop on a dime though and when she hears her name, she does just that. She's getting very good at "come" and "stay" commands for a 3 month old. Mommy and daddy are very proud of her, and love her to pieces.

If you are interested in learning more about the breed, here's a great link! Russian Toy Terrier.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll do a catch up on other projects over the next few days.

Enjoy the summer and stay safe!

Meet Shirley Willrun!

Hubby found this awesome machine on Craigslist. The seller accepted our offer, and it's now ours.
I had fun driving it around today! Shirley is going to make yard chores so much easier now. I'm loving her!
3 minutes of instructions and I'm on my own! I baffled hubby! :)

Be back in a few!

Here we go!

Turn or not turn........

Turning

Backing up with no mirrors.

Doing good!

All clear!

Going uphill...

Ummm... You'd better move or you're gonna get run over!

Nothing Dear... Just sayin!

Reaching the turn-around.

Bringing her back home.

Neutral - Emergency Brake On - Ignition Off

Cubby for My Oxygen.
That was a fun ride. I'm sure there will be plenty more.
I told hubby I want to paint her purple. That didn't go over well. We agreed on leaves. He didn't say I couldn't paint them purple! hehehehe
